Ava Maslan

Associate Scientist

Ava Maslan is an Associate Scientist in Protein Sciences with extensive experience in genetic engineering, protein production, antibody discovery, and biochemical characterization. At Centivax, she supports drug development through mammalian cell culture and transfection, protein purification workflows, biophysical characterization, computational engineering of stabilized viral antigens, and LNP encapsulation. Previously, at Alector and Perfect Day, Ava performed high-throughput engineering of expression constructs, produced transfection-grade DNA, supported antibody and protein production, developed fungal strains, and applied laboratory automation across research programs. She has engineered more than 8,000 DNA constructs, achieved over 90% sequence fidelity in high-throughput cloning, and is skilled with AKTA, Gator BLI, Hamilton, Tecan, Biomek, QPix, and ddPCR platforms. Ava earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Cal Poly and a Biotechnology PSM at the University of San Francisco with a 4.0 GPA. She brings precision, adaptability, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to challenges.
